ive made drills 15cm high and planted my potatoes, which of the following do you thik would be most suitable in the valley of the drills??
carrots
onions
lettuce
cabbage
brocolli
cucumber
pumpkins??
there is 30 cm between each drill, i have heavy clay soil.

water doesnt drain great in soil so something that likes water. P.S doesn’t have to be on my list

onions. Clay soil will cause short fat carrots. Lettuce would be ok..it likes a little shade. cucumber and pumpkins climb and that would be a mess. i have garlic and potatoes together. Good luck.

A catch crop which will mature quickly would be best,the soil will need to be disturbed in order to earth up the potatoes.
Salad such as lettuce,radish,rocket,chives etc;most others would grow too slowly or compete with the main crop.
