i have this cucumber plant in my yard and the one of the japanese cucmbers are pretty big, and a weird slime now is emmitting from the stem -may be snails/slugs- so i was wondering how big it is to see if i can harvest it

They’re all fat at one end then curve to the side and the other end is really skinny, or they’re short and fat…they’re almost never like they are in the grocery store

I have a vegtable garden at home and last year along with this year my cucumbers have a real strong sour taste. I can’t work out why this happens. Can you please suggest some possible causes for why this is happening? Thanks
