I planted 4 cucumber bushes about 3 months ago. I live in SoCal and the weather has been about 12 degrees cooler than usual, the highs have been between 65 and 78 for the past 2 months, usually we are over 85 degrees this time of year. My plant problem is, the baby cucumbers keep shriveling up and dying. I think I have hybrid plants as I can not find any male flowers at all, which leads me to believe I have self pollinating plants like tomato bushes. Is the temperature my problem or what else could it be? I have tons of flowers with tiny cucumbers and want them to pollinate, please help!

Can any one please tell me an easy recipe for making this Tzatiuki – Cucumber Sauce that is put in Gyros? I have searched the web, tried a few recipes. They never come out like the ones at the greek restaurants. I was hoping that some of you actually know how to make this. Please send me some recipes that you have tried and liked. Thank you for your help..

We planted “yellow cucumbers” in our garden this year, and they are just now starting to come in. We have noticed that on the first fruits that are starting to set, that the skin is very bumpy almost even priclkly (more so than any cucumber that we have ever grow before). I was hoping that someone could tell me if this is normal or not. One other piece of information that may help, the row of of Yellow cucumbers, is directly next to a row of Armenian cucumbers. Thank you in advance for your time.

It is a very tall plant that blooms yellow flowers – under the flowers on the each stem there are small “cucumber like” blooms. They sort of remind me of a small cucumber or possible green beans. I have several pictures to show however it does not appear I can add them here. If someone can assist I will gladly email the pics
Thank you in advance for any information/guidance you can provide

I am looking for yummy ways to prepare veggies and/or recipes containing veggies.
My husband and I do not like a lot of vegetables, but we want our kids to grow up liking everything – it is hard to lead by example when there isn’t much we like. Our kids actually eat far more veggies than either of us.
We will eat salads with spinach, green leaf lettuce, cucumber and carrots. We eat green beans out of the can (which I know aren’t that great for you) and I really can’t think of much else we eat. I make salads often so that we do get some greens but I know we need so much more. So I am looking for you yummiest recipe to help us start to enjoy veggies more.
Things I’ll probably never eat are iceberg lettuce & cooked carrots. I am really trying to get myself to eat tomatoes but I just can’t seem to. I am now growing them in my garden because I hear they are much better fresh. 10 pts to the one we like best!
I need someone else to cook for me that way they could hide the veggies like we sometimes do from our kids
! But when I am doing it I know they are there .. lol.

So I planted these 2 vegetables in separate containers with about 3-5 seeds in each. As of now, about 3-4 in each have sprouted (germinated?) but obviously I’m only going to need one for the container, right? What should I do with the others that sprouted? Is there a specific way I should cut them? or just yank’em?

I planted cucumbers in my garden, in Iowa. My cucumbers have been doing well, but just recently, I have gotten some bitter ones. What are some ideas on how to get the bitterness gone? [soaking in salt, vinegar, etc.]

I have a 2 dogs, and one of them likes to dig. My problem is I want to plant a small garden this yr, just a coupe of tomato, squash and cucumber plants and I am afraid she will want to dig them up. Without having to put up a fence, is there any other way of keeping her from digging? Like spraying something(safe) around the plants so that maybe by the smell, it will keep her from digging?
I would appreciate any suggestion … Thanks
