I have heard that planting cukes near melons will alter the taste. Such as makeing the melons taste like cukes. I myself do not beleive this but my wife is all about it being true. Can anybody help here?

I finally convinced my mom to buy a thing of tofu for me. ((I’m a vegetarian, and I think she’s finally starting to come to terms with it… She’s not exactly the most supportive. x_x)) I’ve been looking up recipes and such, but I can’t find any recipes that seem good or light or small enough for one person. What would be some good recipes to try? Oh, and the tofu is firm, not extra-firm… Not sure if that matters or not. ^_^;

Also, I’d really, really like to know some good vegetarian recipes! I /love/ fruit, so anything with fruit would be awesome. And I don’t like cucumbers. xD ((I’ve seen a .lot/ of recipes with cucumbers… x_x Can’t they just be excluded, though? I’m only fifteen and I don’t cook much, so I’m not really sure…))

I can’t find how many seeds you put into the garden at one time to get one plant. We are planting cucumbers, green beans, watermelon, and sweet corn and I don’t know how many seeds to drop in the ground to just get one plant. I don’t want to go throwing 3 or more seeds in one spot and get three plants sprouting in the same place. Any garden people out there???

I’m being a bit more adventures this year and planting as well as my normal herbs and tomatoes, beans, courgettes, cucumbers, lettuces, potatoes and peppers. Thing is, I don’t really have any good area of soil so it all needs to be in containers. My tomatoes are already looking good to tranplant – I don’t want grobags all over the patio as they are ugly. Does anyone have any good tips for a potted allotment person like myself??!!!

I have an abundce of garden vegetables, and i need to make something. Preferibly sweedish, with tomatoes and or cucumbers.

I planted four cucumber seeds in plastic trays. I added some compost along with the soil from my backyard. My soil can grow anything for some strange reason, so I just figured “why not add the soil.” But do you think it will not be good for my cucumbers?
Another thing the weather has been very cold and rain is going to show up soon but after that passes, its all sun and light i hope. Because of it, I’m growing them indoors for now.I live in Southern cali so its decent for growing things here. Any tips for my cucumbers will be greatly appreciated.

I need the simplest sandwich recipes. I have bread, mayo, cream cheese, cucumber at home. Please advise what I had to buy. I can’t bring chicken and cook. Advise things which are available ready made in market. I don’t have an oven ( I have fry fan+oil ). Please advise as many recipes as possible. I am in very bad need of it.

my cucumber plants are being invaded by ants !
Is there anything I can do about it?
Are the ants going to effect the growth of my cucumbers?

I’ve recently got 2 apple shell snails for my fish tank, i told they eat the algee in the tank and left over fish food but was also advised to give them some cucumber every few days. They like this but so does my goldfish, they go mad for it and actually swim round with the slices of cucumber so the other fish can’t get it. I assume it’s ok for them to eat as they eat the live plants i put in the tank but can anyone reassure me that it is safe for my goldfish to eat cucumber?
