Is there a website where I can find the thickness of a plant stem? Like its diameter. It’s for something I plan to do. I’ve tried googling, wikiing etc and I still can’t find the information I need.
I need to know the thickness of the stem of a tomato plant, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, squash, and watermelon.
I need to know the diameter of the thickest stem
I just planted my first garden. I have put tomatoes plants, cucumbers, squash and watermelon. The tomatoes had fruit already on it when I planted them and now the fruit has been ruined by some animal (thinking a bird) How can I protect them from further damage. I am on a strict budget so if any one has any ideas with things around the house that would be great. I live in an area I dont have to worry about deer just small animals. Please help.
Do you think the stuff you make wedding veils out of would work to cover the plants? Thank you all for the advice I am going to leave this up a little longer to see if I get more advice.
Thank you all for the info. I chose this one as the best b/c it gave me the most info on how to protect my garden. Thank you again and God bless you all.
My aunt (she passed away about 3 years ago) gave me her lime pickle recipe. It uses cucumbers, vinegar, sugar, etc. But I don’t understand this part:
Slice cucumbers and cover with solutions of 2 cups lime, 2 gal water and sock for 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
Any ideas if this is a cotton sock, and what purpose does it have?
Thanks!
I can’t believe I didn’t figure that one out! She definitely spelled it “sock” but I can see that “soak” is what it’s supposed to be.
Thanks everyone!
I have several tomato, cucumber, & eggplant plants in containers on my front porch. There is quite a bit of daily traffic on the roadway about 30 feet from my house. Do you think they exhaust fumes will have a negative effect on my plants and produce?
Which would do better partially shaded, summer squash or cucumber? I know both do the best in full sun, but I don’t have that option.
I am having a small and informal outdoor wedding at a plantation bed and breakfast next May. I want to do the cooking myself, and I am planning on making individual picnic baskets for each guest. I want the food to be a little more special than just lunchmeat or whatever, kinda old-fashioned, southern….
Preliminary menu–
Shaved prime rib w/horseradish mayo on mini yeast rolls.
Southern fried chicken
Garden Pasta Salad
Sliced Cucumbers and Onions
Kettle Style Chips
Chocolate Sandies Cookies
Cupcake Wedding Cake
Any comments or alternate ideas would be appreciated. Keep in mind that they must be able to be individually wrapped and packed in boxes. Must not need to be cold, and must be easy to eat outside.
Thank You Everyone!
I am wondering how many sea and land plants and animals match in name. There is dogwood, dog and sea dog, cat and catfish, wolf and wolf berry, hog and hog plum. How many matches are there of land and sea creatures with the same name?
