I have just brought a greenhouse can you give me some tips on how to grow cucumbers.?

    A greenhouse is a great way to start the seedlings. mix fertilizer with some nice soil. Put this into trays and push one seed into each square about 3/4 inch down. water until plant is 4 or 5 inches high. Its a good idea to transplant them outdoors after this. Cucumbers grow outward instead of up. One plant can sometimes cover 4 square feet. Make sure to pick them at the right time or the bottoms will rot from sitting on the ground. I always put plastic around the plant to keep the weeds away. This way no pesticides!

    plant seeds singly in 4″pots
    transplant when they have 2 leafs
    space 2-3` apart
    give ample support to stem as `fruit` are heavy
    you can get self fertile variety’s usually pre-fixed`femma`
    you may like to try some of the round type .
    they also come in yellow and white+burpless
    the time to sow and plant on depends on season
    in UK seeds in april
    plant out in may.
