Zucchinis are related to squash and grow on almost identical plants, which consist of many hollow stems with giant prickly leaves on them. The plant is self-supporting and the vegetable is easy to see.
Cucumbers, by contrast, are more closely related to watermelons and loofahs. They grow on vines, which normally grow along the ground but can be trained to grow upwards. (You can do that with a watermelon plant too, it just isn’t a great idea if you want sweet watermelons, ’cause they’ll just snap off. ) They–the cucumbers–are extremely watery and often are difficult to distinguish from the vine as they are often the same color.
Both plants will produce flowers. The zucchini flowers are near the ground at the base of the plant, while cucumber flowers grow essentially in the same way as the leaves. Once the flowers are pollinated, the ovaries of the flower will develop into a fleshy fruit with seeds inside. Over time, the fleshy fruit will get larger and larger, and the flower will fall off.

Both are members of the cucurbit family. Their flowers will be similar, although not identical. If you watch the flowers, a small fruit with develop at the base of the flower after it is fertilized with pollen. Get a camera, take pictures, it is an amazing process.

From a yellow blossem male blossem and a female. the female will have a very small friut at the base of the blossem. That looks like the veggie of the plant. thats when the bees come to pollanate or you can do it yourself by taking the male blossem off the plant and rubbing it on the female blossem. be carful not to knock off the female blossem from the plant.
